Seminar In Technology Education (Microsoft Excel)

Our last session for the week (26/09/19) was very thorough where we learnt how to create new tabs in Microsoft Excel along with naming them and adding tab colour.

The teacher ended the class by demonstrating how to freeze a row or column. This will help the user who wants to see the row or column which is frozen at all times. This frozen area will be displayed no matter which part of the spreadsheet is being displayed.

Seminar In Technology Education (Microsoft Excel)

On September 24th 2019, the class was introduced to Microsoft Excel where formulas for eg =sum(B3:B5) were given to calculate numbers in quick time. Also, there was a short presentation on how to calculate average.

This was a very informative session and is efficient to use when quick calculations and averages are needed for preparing mark books as a teacher. Additionally, Microsoft Excel gives the ability to organize large amounts of data which is very easy to analyze.

Seminar in Technology Education (Snipping Tool)

On September 17th 2019, all students were introduced to the snipping tool that was very new to most of us. The teacher explained that it is mainly used for screenshots. It can take screenshots of an open window, images and even the entire computer screen.

This is a great tool that can be used in the classroom especially when planning a lesson that involves gathering pictures and creative ideas.

We also learned how to create folders and sub-folders in file explorer for classroom activities.

Seminar in Technology Education (Microsoft Word)

On the 10th day of September, 2019. I journeyed to my Seminar in Technology Education class to learn how it is very effective to use technology in the classroom. During the session, we learned about shortcut keys such as copy(Ctrl c), paste(Ctrl v) and undo (Ctrl z). This lesson allowed me to see that technology makes things easier for us and it is important to know these little things save time!. The teacher also explained to us how to create, shade and color tables, how to manage sources and finally creating this blog!. It was a very informative lesson and I can’t wait to learn more!
